Why PaperSaver

Everything your research workflow needs

🎯

One click, four destinations

Notion database, Zotero library, Google Scholar saved, and a local PDF — all in a single click. No switching tabs, no copy-pasting metadata.

🌍

Every publisher, automatically

Extracts title, authors, year, DOI, and abstract from arXiv, IEEE, ACM, Springer, Nature, ScienceDirect, bioRxiv, and more — with no configuration.

📚

A library that grows with you

Every paper you've ever saved lives in your personal Library — searchable, sortable, with destination badges showing exactly where each paper went.

🔗

Your Notion, your structure

Connects to any Notion database in your workspace. PaperSaver matches your existing column names — Title, Authors, Year, DOI, Tags — automatically.

No duplicate saves

PaperSaver checks your history before each save and shows an "Already saved" badge if the paper already exists — so you never create duplicates.

🔐

Your data stays yours

Cookies and Notion tokens never leave your browser. The backend stores only the metadata you explicitly save. Built by a GDPR-compliant EU developer.

FAQ

Common questions

Which publishers does PaperSaver support?

arXiv, IEEE Xplore, ACM Digital Library, Springer, Nature, ScienceDirect, bioRxiv, medRxiv, PubMed, OpenReview, and Semantic Scholar — plus most pages that use standard citation_* meta tags. Coverage is actively expanded.

Does it work with paywalled papers?

PaperSaver can only download PDFs you are already authorised to access — through your institution, a personal subscription, or open access. If you can read the paper in your browser, PaperSaver can save it.

Do I need a Notion account?

Notion is used for account sign-in and (optionally) as a save destination. You need a Notion account to use PaperSaver. The Notion destination can be toggled off if you only use Zotero or Scholar.

How does the Zotero integration work?

PaperSaver talks to Zotero's local connector server on localhost:23119 — the same protocol used by the official Zotero Connector. Just keep Zotero desktop open when saving. No API key needed.

Is my data private?

Your Notion OAuth token and browser cookies never leave your browser. The backend stores only the paper metadata you explicitly save (title, authors, year, DOI, URL) plus your account info for subscription management. No advertising, no profiling. The developer is based in Greece (EU) — GDPR applies.

What happens if I cancel?

You can cancel anytime from your Lemon Squeezy account portal. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period. Your saved paper history is preserved and will be accessible again if you resubscribe.
